Thank you for visiting our website. Leadership is something we can't compromise on, and that is why I am working hard for the families of New York's 29th District.

It's time for a Congressman who leads, not follows.

Moving Forward in 2008
For many of us, New Years Day is about family, college bowl games, and taking the first steps of our resolutions. While I certainly enjoy football games (and goodness knows I'm working on a quite a few resolutions), this is also a day for me to express my deepest gratitude to you. After all, it was support from you and thousands of other likeminded friends that helped us get off to such a great start in 2007. With your help, we surpassed our goals, laid the groundwork for a true grassroots effort, and held my opponent accountable for his George Bush voting record.

Today, we commit ourselves to creating a better world in 2008. I believe, therefore, that this is the perfect opportunity to publish a statement of my core principles for this election. What is it that the Massa for Congress campaign stands for?

What Eric Stands For

I believe that every American can be part of the solution if we understand that we are all citizens of this great Nation first,, and a member of a particular political party as a distant second. I am not Eric Massa, a registered Democrat - I am Eric Massa, a proud and free American who sees the challenges ahead of us and the chance to create a new dawn of opportunity for all. I will run a Congressional campaign in 2008 based on these values and on the issues, despite the coming false and disingenuous statements of political opponents. We have been handed the torch of a new generation and it is up to all of us to hold it high and light the way to a brighter tomorrow.

The Cost of a war

Friends,

Today is the fifth anniversary of "Mission Accomplished," and I wanted to share this video on my thoughts with you.

The Commander's Table

What a Real Debate about the Troop Escalation Would Look Like

If one listened to the most interesting portion of the recent Fox News Republican debate, the part where they were debating whether the escalation, aka the "surge," in Iraq is achieving progress or not, there were two sides, both of which essentially failed to realistically present the options available to us. On one side was Ron Paul, who basically said we need to get out of Iraq for our own best interest and not worry much about what we leave behind. The other side was most forcefully represented by Mike Huckabee, who said that since we broke it, it is a matter of honor that we fix Iraq before we leave. Republican spinmeister Frank Luntz declared that Huckabee's comment won in the focus groups.
