| Have Your Voice Heard |
The Letters page is typically one of the best read sections of a newspaper. People are always interested to hear what their neighbors think, so this is a great way to be heard, share your support for Eric, or explain how the decisions being made in Washington are affecting you, your family and your friends.
Tips for Writing Excellent Letters to the Editor
- Adhere to guidelines." Each paper has its own individual restrictions on length and method of submission. Make sure you check the paper's letters guidelines. Many papers will not consider letters that do not conform.
- Make it locally relevant. Papers may be more likely to publish letters that have a local angle and that address an issue recently reported by the paper. It may help to reference a recent article; a list of recent relevent articles in local papers is available here.
- Personalize it. Don't send a form letter. Personalize your letter and use an example of how the issue directly affects you and your neighbors.
- Send us a copy. We want to hear about your success. If you see your letter published, send us a copy by
e-mail or by mail.
